Introduction

At its core, artificial intelligence (AI) is being trained heavily and is relevant to blogging as the technology evolves. In this article I give my take on what’s ethical and what’s not when using AI for blogging.

How AI can be used for Blogging

AI has the capability to create and alter blog content and media, including images, infographics, video, audio and podcasts. It can also assist with research, brainstorming and ideas for core topics.

Using AI Ethically

AI has many capabilities for blogging, but I think only some of those are ethical.

Using AI to outline, draft and alter the tone of blog content, as well as alter sentences to inject keywords for SEO purposes and alter grammar/make improvements on text to me is unethical because it misrepresents our interpretation of the language we communicate with, often perfecting since our childhood.

I think AI-generated images such as cartoons can be ethical, but realistic images that deceive the original people in images, potentially causing harm, are not.

How to use AI Ethically for Blogging

Research, brainstorming and finding core topics can be achieved through using Google or other websites, such as ChatGPT and infographics and other images, video and audio can be created through text input on websites such as Canva.
