Wow, it’s Friday again already, not that I’m complaining. Just seems as if the week flew by! While still not publishing as many articles as I’d like too here on Side Income Blogging, I did spend a great deal of time working on the site.
I’ve been a little disappointed in my traffic, so following my own advice I’ve been spending time commenting on other blogs and working on a few guest posts. I also worked on getting links and trying to get some traffic outside of just search engines. I’ll be writing about this in an upcoming Traffic Building Tuesday article. I’ll be tracking my traffic growth and let you know if my efforts pay off.
I’ve also made a decision to start sharing my blog and niche site revenue with you each month so you can actually see the financial rewards of starting a money making blog and building niche sets. This was a tough decision for me as I’m a pretty private person when it comes to my finances. So it will definitely be out of my comfort zone, but I think it will be really inspirational for you and hopefully offer some encouragement. I’ll post my first update in July once my June earnings are finalized.
Now on with the show…
The Friday most excellent
Here are my top favorite reads from the “blogging/earn an income online” blogosphere this week:
- How to Get More Followers on Twitter @ Graywolf’s SEO Blog – Really good strategy for increasing your followers on Twitter and even shares a few cool tools to help you focus on people that will most likely follow back.
- Now You Can Add The New Google +1 Share Button to Thesis @ DIYThemes – The +1 button from Google is the talk of the blogosphere right now, I’ve seen dozens of articles about it. Not only does the button allow readers to promote your article by clicking on the +1 button. While not confirmed, most SEO experts expect this will effect your search rankings. I followed the instructions and added it here on Side Income Blogging. I’m such a lemming.
- How To Hire Article Writers On oDesk @ Standout Blogger – Thomas put together a really thorough post on how to find, screen and hire writers on oDesk. I was impressed with the amount of detail here and will definitely be using his suggestions to get some articles written for some niche sites I’m building. At $3/article, the price is hard to beat.
- Interview: ‘To date I’ve earned a few million from Google Adsense…” @ Daily Blog Tips - This was both an inspirational and insightful article. Inspirational of course for the money he’s earning. Insightful for a few reasons: 1) He doesn’t build sites, he buys them. Haven’t tried that yet, but he has my curiosity up. 2) He says: “SEO is the cheap and easy route for those who can’t be bothered to develop real referrers“. The concept of Real referrers was intriguing. I’m doing some research on this and will let you know what I find out. I have always relied on search engines for traffic and revenues. Seems like maybe there might be an untapped market.
- 5 Ways to Succeed with Guest Blogging @ How to make my blog – This article was timely and I found that it compliments the article I wrote this week: Traffic Building Tuesday Tip: Guest post well. Really good tips and agree with all of them.
