Side Income Blogging is all about teaching and helping you start a successful side business online.  The primary focus will on blogging, but I’ll also address niche stores, affiliate marketing, and PPC advertising as well.  Side Income Blogging will have in depth tutorial articles, quick tips articles, and tips from my experience as a successful blogger.

How Side Income Blogging came about

In early 2007 I was on a quest to get my personal finances under control.  I started reading books and searching online for as much information as I could find.  While searching, I discovered blogs.  Namely: GetRichSlowly.org and The Simple Dollar.  I thought it might be fun and helpful to others to share what I was learning using a blog.  Coming from a technical background, I thought it might be a good learning experience as well.  A few days later, I started a Christian personal finance blog called Gather Little by Little.  I had no clue at the time that blogging could not only generate a very reasonable side income, but also full time income.  Needless to say 2 years later, I was literally in awe that Gather Little by Little was earning in excess of $1000/month!

I’ve never been one to do the same thing for too long, and in 2009 decided to look at possibly selling Gather Little by Little.  Shortly after I found a buyer, and sold the blog so I could move onto other things I was interested in pursuing.  Gather Little by Little not only exposed me to the world of blogging, but also to many other internet based side income opportunities, such as:

• Pay Per Click advertising using affiliate offers
• Niche store building
• Consulting, blog coaching, and website and blog development

After selling Gather Little by Little, my main focus was growing my blog consulting, blog coaching and web design and development business, Empty Cabin Media.  At Empty Cabin Media, I help others with the technical details of their websites and blogs along with building their sites from scratch, coaching them on SEO and blog growth, performance tuning, and numerous other items.  My earnings from Empty Cabin Media average around $1500/month.

I also run about 10 different Niche Sites that provide store front-ends to eBay products and utilize Adsense ads.  These stores on currently generate on average $350/month and continue to grow.  I also have a few other blogs where I earn income from Adsense, affiliate offers, and direct advertisements.

Cut the chase right?  What I’m trying to tell you is that over the past 3 I’ve successfully created myself a side income that exceeds $2000/month and continues to grow each and every month.  If  I can do it, so can you.   I decided to start Side Income Blogging to teach you how to earn a decent side income that could very easily blossom into a full-time job for you if you put the time and effort into it.  Don’t be mislead though, making money on the internet requires a great deal of time and work, but it’s worth it.  Personally, I love the fact that I literally earn money while I’m sleeping.  So can you.

About Me

My name is Larry Deane.  I work full-time as an IT manager for a Financial Institution and part-time as a blogger, web developer, consultant, and internet entrepreneur.  I have a technical background and have been working with computers since I was 11 years old.  I have a BS degree in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina.  I’ve been programming computers professionally since 1993 and have been building websites and web applications since the late 90s.
